Week of April 20-24

Music Monday - Let's Learn!

No instrument? No problem! Let’s build our own Ukulele models so that we can practice chords and play from home. We are going to make our own show box ukulele with some supplies you can find around the house. The most important part will be to copy the neck of a ukulele out of cardboard. Then, we can practice and learn new chords to accompany pop songs on YouTube and Musicplay!

FUN FRIDAY

Drama Fun!

Familiar Favourites!

Missing drama? We sure are! Teach your family one of the fun improv games that we’ve played in class. Here are some that are our personal faves!

1. Birthday Party: 1 actor is the party host. The others are the party guests. The party host welcomes each party guest one-by-one. Party guests must act like a specific character (draw characters out of a hat). After welcoming all the guests to their party and interacting a bit, the host must try to guess who each guest is.

2. Bus Stop: 1 actor is waiting at a bus stop (you can use the couch or a bench as the bus stop). The other actor must enter as a silly character to try and make the person waiting laugh.

3. Waiter, Waiter! 2 actors sit at a table. A waiter enters the scene and welcomes them to the restaurant. The waiter takes the drink order and leaves the scene. The 2 actors then talk about the waiter and a specific action the waiter kept doing (“Did you see how the waiter kept flapping his/her arms like a chicken?”). When the waiter enters the scene with the drinks, they must enter with the acting clue that was given. Continue this a few times until the waiter looks super silly!
